Why Create Metaverse Wire?

The metaverse (i.e. Second Life, OpenGrid, and other related worlds and communities) is difficult to keep track of. While there’s wonderful and well read websites, most of the news and information is often unorganized and unmanageable. This isn’t a new idea, a well-known and beloved website Planet of SL, performed an easy way to obtain a bird’s eye view of the Second Life community. Metaverse Wire is an extension of that idea.

How Is This Different From One Of The Many Other Feeds?

In many ways, Metaverse Wire is exactly like some of the other feeds that exist. It’s based on aggregating and collating community websites for content. Each feed differs from the other, but unlike one of the many feed based websites, Metaverse Wire also relies on article and direct content submission that exists outside of the feeded website.

Why Aren’t There Images On The Front Page?

Syndicated posts vary in length, from the very long to the very short. Some posts include many pictures, while other’s are just text. This caused some posts to become hidden, while others took up a lot of space. In order to syndicate blog posts and content in a more even, consistent manner, posts on the front page have been truncated to an excerpt. Now, only the first 55 words show on the front page, without any images. This change does not occur on any of the category, tagged, or date archives.

My Site Has Been Submitted, But Some Posts Do Not Appear

To best facilitate organization, Metaverse Wire only displays posts that fit into an existing category or tag. Categories and tags are pre-determined, and may change over time to allow more blog posts to appear on the feed. For your post to appear on Metaverse Wire, it must be classified under one of the pre-existing Metaverse Wire categories.

How Do I Submit My Website? Article?

How Long Will It Take For Blog To Appear?

Generally, 24 – 48 hours. Websites are reviewed and then added to the Metaverse Wire. Once added to the feed, within an hour, your item should appear on the website.
